PRAYER MINISTRIES
Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Team.....
The TKC Prayer Team, chaired by Nettie Young, is composed of eight women who meet from 9:30-11:00 every Monday morning. The team was formed in late 2003 to provide prayer support for the staff, committee members, and activities involved in the development of our long range vision plans, Thy Kingdom Come.
This team also prays, in absolute confidence for everything our church is involved in: our Minsters, staff, members, attendees, teachers, programs, sick, troubled, searching, our community, country, and the world. We pray as well for the prayer requests placed in the offering plates on Sunday and those received on this web site, www.firstbaptistclinton.org .
This team has evolved into initiating and assisting in the development of programs which encourage larger numbers of people to be involved in prayer. Our church-wide Love To Pray study is an example. We encourage other prayer groups of all ages to develop small groups of prayer through out our church. This group also participates in prayer walking in the community and county also encouraging others to do the same in their neighborhoods.
Other programs developed from this team are described below.
.
1. Worship Service intercessor.
TKC members attempt to have two intercessors in the prayer room during or before each worship service to pray for every aspect of the church service, leaders and attendees.
2. Prayer Shawl Ministry
This is a prayer ministry in which an individual will knit or crochet a shawl for someone going through difficult times. The knitter/crocheter prays for this person while creating the shawl. Once complete the TKC team prays for the recipient, and blesses the shawl. It is then given to the intended recipient. These shawls are provided as tangible evidence that they are cared for , prayed for, and most importantly, reminding them that God loves them and is with them.
